Mr. Eric is from the beautiful state of Maine in the northeast of the United States. There are no popular cities in Maine but the lobster from the Maine coastline is enjoyed around the world because of its sweet flavor. Mr. Eric attained an apprentice certificate in Electronic Graphic Arts before joining the U.S. navy for seven and a half years. During his tenure in the navy he visited more than a dozen different countries and enjoyed interacting with the many people of those countries. Currently Mr. Eric is enrolled in his third year of a Human Services degree with a minor in management at the University of Phoenix.
Mr. Eric has now been living in Japan for just over eight years with six and a half years of that time spent teaching English in both private settings and in schools. The students that he has taught range in age from six months old to 75 years old. He enjoys being able to pass along his knowledge of the world while helping students achieve their goals in English. By including his interests in his lessons, he is able to teach more than the book.
"Do not do to others what would anger you if done to you by others." --- Isocrates.
It is important to teach not just language but also the skills to use that language effectively with others.

My name is Claudia Neubauer and I recently came to Japan from Austria in October of 2007. I hold an M.A. degree in Education and Media Literacy from the University of Vienna, and I have previously taught as a kindergarten teacher in San Diego, California, USA. This was a unique opportunity to acquire a sensibility for another culture, especially in such a diverse environment like southern California. Similarly, teaching Japanese children is a wonderful opportunity to further apply my skills in international education and Young Child Care Education.
The basis for my teaching philosophy is “Learning by Doing” or “Active Learning” which means engaging all of a child’s senses and attention in order to discover something new. In this spirit, I try to provide a caring environment so children can fully develop emotionally, academically, physically and socially. This curriculum of “Active Learning” promotes these ends as well as an education in English through enjoyable activities such as singing, dancing, playing and arts & crafts.
