Philosophy
We have given great thought to our curriculum and the organization of our classes.
We provide a balanced and complete program of education in a family-like, well-equipped
environment. Emphasis is placed on reading, writing, verbal communication, numeracy
skills, science exploration, artistic skills, physical coordination, and social
interaction.
Our
qualified teachers bring a wealth of experience to our classes. The teachers draw
on their international background to facilitate a creative learning environment.
Children learn best when they are happy and comfortable in their environment.
This is why the choice of school materials is important. Our teaching staff use
equipment, that is imported from overseas. These materials are developmentally
appropriate and modern. Every effort has been made to provide our students with
adequate space to learn through play. In addition, the children go to a local
park that is only a 5-minute walk from the school.
Our students are divided into Kindergarten, Pre-Kindergarten, and Toddler classes based
on their developmental skills. Seta International Preschool is committed to maintaining
a student teacher ratio of 8:1 or less, so that children can have as much individual
attention as possible. Chances for individual instruction will be maximized throughout
the program, when it is necessary.
 At
Seta International Preschool, the driving philosophy behind our program is to
give our students the best possible preparation for the next stage of their education.
This is done through an integrated play-based approach to learning. Children are
encouraged to explore their surroundings and learn through their social interactions
and everyday experiences.
Technology
Technology plays an ever-increasing part in our lives. Seta International Preschool
has computers, which the children use under the guidance of our teachers.
Computer usage is integrated into the daily curriculum. The children learn basic operational skills, while developing good hand-eye coordination.
Our computer is used as a tool to further enhance the students’
language and mathematical skills in an enjoyable atmosphere.
Music
Students have regular classes in music. Our specialist in music has created a program with flair. Children are introduced to the music of diverse
cultures, while also exploring rhythm, melody and movement. We hold concerts twice
a year. Children work together to produce unique and exciting musical programs.
Physical Education (PE)
During early childhood, it is important that children develop their physical skills.
Once a week, our children are taken to a nearby Junior High School to attend physical
education class. The students engage in sports and activities that help develop
their large motor skills.
Health
The school has contracted a local school doctor, dental surgeon and nurse. They visit us twice
a year to conduct health and dental checks for the students. In addition, our
staff members are trained in CPR. First aid equipment is available at the school.
Any serious injuries will be taken to a local hospital, which is 5-minute drive
from the school. School insurance is included in the tuition fees.
Assessment
Students are continually assessed by a variety of methods. Parents/Teacher conferences
are held in November and May and report cards are issued in December and June.
We also can arrange an appointment for parents who wish to observe their child/children
during our daily lessons.
Parental
Involvement
A parents' role in his/her child’s education is very important. At Seta
International Preschool we encourage parents to participate in our school's special
events, such as Christmas Concert Party, Spring Party and Year End Graduation
Party. We also have monthly, joint birthday parties when parents can help celebrate
their child’s special day.
